Over the summer, team 9784 DRY ICE started a Computer-Aided Design Course for those who were inexperienced in the field. We were able to teach all 10 participants the basics of Cad, make ideas into models, and sketch different ideas they want to make. We taught ten classes overall, and in each, we covered other concepts such as sketching, extruding, transforming, morphing, inscribing, and how to print the models you create. We thought these were the best skills to teach because it walked the participants through how to imagine a model, build it on CAD, and finally transform it into a physical object. We are also worked together with SAGE (Science Accelerates Girls' Excellence) to provide classes to over 40 students!
Please check out the SAGE website for updates on current classes and more. Lesson materials for CAD class: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1kueQwAuH8BrWMcmUi65qmxgKMv4cMfyS?usp=sharing |
