Justin Yang | 2015-2018
Justin was a founding member and former team captain of Dry Ice from 2016-2017, as well as the creator of the name “Dry Ice”. He specialized in the hardware faction of robotics and also advised the management staff on making decisions during competitions, such as alliance selection and judge interviews. Outside of robotics, he enjoyed playing video games, hanging out with friends, and practicing piano. He graduated from Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2018.
Xingbu Qin | 2016-2018
Xingbu specialized in software and also worked a significant amount on hardware. During the 2015-16 game Res-Q, his high school robotics team made an alliance with Dry Ice and they achieved excellent results, going to super-regionals. The subsequent years, he joined Dry Ice and added a lot of the team dynamic, not only as a member, but also as a mentor. He loves video games, fruits (being able to clear 3 lb bags of oranges in a single night of hw) and is an ardent(fanatical) band kid(clarinet) to the highest extent (however, he suffers a significant decline in Asian power since he doesn’t know how to play the piano; the irony is that his 1st instrument was the keyboard). In high school, he played in multiple symphonies, including CYSSA Sporting Clays and Diablo Wind Symphony. He graduated from Heritage High School (Dublin, CA) in 2018.
Marlon Fu | 2015-2019
Marlon Fu was a founding member of 9784 Dry Ice and team captain from 2017-18. He helped design, build, and test past robots and worked extensively on the engineering notebook, sponsorships, organization and logistics for the 4 years he has been on the team. He has always cherished good technical challenges, and enjoyed working on hardware the most because he believed it is a good way to effectively stretch one’s creativity, through the execution of the design thinking process. Outside of robotics, he likes cross country and track, and instrumental music, and has a strong passion for filmmaking. In addition to producing projects of his own, he produced highlight reels, tutorials, and robot reveals for the Dry Ice YouTube Channel. He graduated from Carlmont High School (Belmont, CA) in 2019.
Leonard Wei | 2017-2019
Leonard was the hardware lead of Dry Ice and captain of his high school FRC team in his senior year at his school. He has been in FTC since his high school freshman year and FRC since his high school sophomore year. He was a violinist in the Intermediate String Orchestra in the California Youth Symphony, a brown belt in the Kuk Sool Won martial art, and a Chinese watercolor painter. He graduated from Galileo Academy of Science and Technology (San Francisco, CA) in 2019.
Rebecca Jiang | 2018-2019
Rebecca was the business manager and focused on sponsor outreach, fundraising, and the engineering notebook during her time as a member of Dry Ice. She was the treasurer and head of fundraising in her high school’s Key Club and drew that experience to shape the business component of Dry Ice as it is today. Outside of Dry Ice, she was also commissioner of Publicity for Student Government (ASB), and was student representative of Carlmont’s Governance Council. She has a strong passion for assisting local communities who lack the resources that would otherwise provide for their well-being, and taking the time to interact with populations that hold perspectives very different from hers. Her academic interests consist of math, psychology, and philosophy, and she also loves playing water polo. She graduated from Carlmont High School (Belmont, CA) in 2019.
Audrey Yang | 2015-2019
Audrey contributed significantly to software programming. Prior to joining FTC, she had experience with LEGO Mindstorms robots. She enjoys drawing and reading. She graduated from Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2020.
Nathan Ge | 2015-2019
Nathan was a founding member of Dry Ice and captain in 2018-19, focusing on hardware and documentation. He has been part of FIRST since 6th grade, when he joined his school’s FLL team. Since then. He became fascinated with collaborative engineering. He is extremely grateful to FIRST, as it taught him engineering principles. Proper work ethic, business fundamentals, and corporate professionalism. His interests are very broad, including robotics, european history, and environmental science. Other non academic interests include, exploring the outdoors, playing basketball, water polo, and swimming. Nathan graduated from San Mateo High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2020.
Victor Qiu | 2016-2019
Victor was the leader of the Driver team and contributed significantly to hardware. He enjoys reading and was on his high school’s swim team. He graduated from Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2020.
Kevin Arackaparambil | 2018-2019
Kevin was responsible for software, business, and hardware on Dry Ice. He has a passion for science, technology, and engineering. Some of his hobbies include soccer, tennis, and piano. He was a patrol leader in Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Youth Activities Council of Foster City because he loves volunteering and giving back to the community while having fun at the same time. Kevin graduated from San Mateo High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2020.
Allen Chen | 2016-2019
Alan was the Software team lead and contributed significantly to developing the software used in Dry Ice’s code. Before joining FTC, he also participated in lego robotics. He likes math and computer programming, and also enjoys reading during his free time. He is currently a senior at James Logan High School.
Kayla Li | 2017-2019
Kayla was the Media and Outreach lead, contributing significantly to management. Initially, she joined robotics because she was intrigued by the industry. Robotics had prompted her to develop critical thinking, presentation skills, and introduced her to an entirely new community of passionate and driven peers. Prior, she trained professionally at the San Francisco Ballet School for 6 years. However, following an injury, she was no longer applicable to continue training. In a way to keep in touch with her dance background, she leads a dance program for children with disabilities. In addition, she enjoys involving herself in videography, music, and science. Kayla is currently a senior at Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA).
Luke Li | 2017-2019
Luke focused on Hardware on Dry Ice. In middle school, he was also the captain of his school’s FLL robotics team. He likes good technical challenges and plays Saxophone and tennis. He is currently a senior at Galileo High School (San Francisco, CA).
Kevin Ren | 2017-2019
Kevin specialized in hardware and contributed significantly to programming. He believes that FTC provides an area where people assist each other in learning and teaching, and was thrilled to be a part of that community. His favorite subjects are history and science. In his spare time, he enjoys playing piano, soccer, or reading history books. He is currently a senior at Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA).
Kevin Zhang | 2018-2019
Kevin was part of the hardware and software team, and was a safety officer. He is very interested in tech, which is why he joined robotics. In his free time, he likes to play piano. Prior to joining the team, he knew little programming, but has developed bounds in the field. Kevin is currently a senior at San Mateo High School (San Mateo, CA).
Johnathan Mo | 2018-2021
Johnathan attended Harker School. In his free time, he enjoys programming, video editing, and flying his drone. On Dry Ice, he worked with software, business, and as a driver.
Mingyuan Wang | 2017-2021
Ming attended Palo Alto High School. I enjoyed programming and engineering. He learned many skills and met many amazing people throughout his time in robotics. In his free time, he enjoys reading and music and thinks about the meaning of life often. He aspires to learn something new every day.
Max Li | 2015-2017
Max focused on hardware and management. He believed that robotics was important because he learned a lot about mechanical design and managing teams. Max graduated from Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA) in 2019.
Amanda Hao | 2018-2019
Amanda contributed the software and business aspect of Dry Ice. FTC helped her understand more concepts and step out of her comfort zone. Prior to FTC, she participated in VEX robotics and parliamentary debate. He enjoys reading and drawing. Amanda is currently a junior at Aragon High School (San Mateo, CA)
Sierrah Li | 2017-2018
Sierrah was key to Dry Ice’s fundraising and management. He has a background in performing arts and actively participates in a volunteer program teaching children with disabilities to dance. She is currently a senior at San Mateo High School (San Mateo, CA).
Timothy Wang | 2017-2018
Timothy was a member of the hardware team in Dry Ice. He enjoys basketball, cello, piano, and CAD.

Anthony Saadeh | 2015-2017
Anthony was a software programmer and driver on Dry Ice. He liked robotics because it was challenging, fun, and educational. Anthony graduated from Carlmont High School (Belmont, CA) in 2020.
Jacob Gottesman | 2017-2019
Jacob was driver lead and worked on hardware. Jacob graduated from Carlmont High School (Belmont, CA) in 2020.
Edrian Liang | 2021-2022
Edrian went to Taylor Middle School. He mainly focused on construction and driving the robot.
Ashton Wang | 2021-2022
Ashton went to Taylor Middle School. He was very excited to be participating in the FTC program, building hardware and driving the robot.
Aryah Oztanir | 2019-2020
Aryah attended Aragon High School. He mostly focused on CAD and Hardware on Dry Ice. He has been on two FTC teams for three years. He enjoy robotics, engineering, the sciences, and coding.
Helena Fu | 2019-2023
As Captain (2020-2022) and Software Lead, Helena worked heavily in developing the team's software library, documentation techniques, and business goals. Initially, robotics interested Helena because of its futuristic themes and incredible capabilities. Along the way, it’s taught her important mechanical and management skills, and how to apply them to real-life situations. She also acquired a lot of conceptual knowledge and programming experience. Most of all, she met an incredible community of people through FIRST that inspired her to continue in the STEM field and contribute to the community. Aside from robotics, she pursued arts such as painting and playing cello, and taught coding and robotics classes at SAGE and afterschool programs. Helena graduated from Carlmont High School in 2023. She is currently attending Tufts University

Jake Xiang | 2019-2023
As Captain (2021-2022), Jake mainly mostly focused on CADing and hardware, and embraced other areas of robotics as well. Being a member of Dry Ice gave him a way to impact the surrounding community. With the Super Joey foundation, our team is able to extend robotics into areas of philanthropy and inspire children to explore the field of STEM. FTC has also demanded the application of soft skills such as documentation and organization. He aspires to utilize these skill sets that he accumulated throughout these FIRST seasons to impact his career and make a difference in the world. Aside from robotics, he also enjoys playing soccer and playing the tenor saxophone. Jake graduated from Carlmont High School in 2023. He is currently attending UC Berkeley.
Jermaine Lei | 2019-2023
As the Co Captain (2020-2021) of Dry Ice, Jermaine strived for unity and excellence in the team. He worked heavily on the mechanical aspects and CAD design of the robot. He also knows JavaScript and C++ and further developed his programming skills in Java. At school, he like math and physics. Some of his hobbies are swimming, biking with friends, and reading books. Jermaine graduated from San Mateo High School in 2023. He is currently attending UC Berkeley.

Joshua Wiedenmann | 2020-2023
Joshua joined robotics because he always had an interest in artificial intelligence and programming and was curious about how the future will turn out with robots. He contributed to software and hardware aspects for the team. When he's not doing robotics, he often does competitive math. Other than that, he enjoys reading, music, physics, and playing games. Joshua graduated from Aragon High School in 2023. He is currently attending UC Davis
